Tesla's Planning To Flood the World with 4 Million Affordable EV's Annually by 2030

Tesla is reportedly gearing up to build at least 4 million entry-level electric vehicles (EVs) per year by 2030, according to a supplier with close ties to the automaker. This ambitious plan is part of Tesla's overall strategy to produce 20 million cars by the same year. The affordable EVs are set to be manufactured across multiple facilities, including factories in China and Mexico.

The highly anticipated Model 2, also referred to as the "small EV," has been the subject of much speculation and rumors. Tesla CEO Elon Musk has previously stated that the company has a clear path to producing a $25,000 EV, which would cost roughly half the production cost of the Model 3.

The Model 3 is already one of the most popular EVs in the world, and an even more affordable Tesla could attract an even larger share of the market. Chinese news outlet, 36 Krypton, reports that sources indicate Tesla is planning an annual production capacity of 4 million units.

Tesla delivered a total of 1.3 million vehicles last year, and its goal to produce 20 million cars annually by 2030 is incredibly ambitious, considering Toyota, the current production leader, produced only half that amount in 2022. Tesla's current production capacity is around 2 million vehicles per year, but new factories like the one planned for Mexico will boost that figure. Furthermore, if the Cybertruck does go into mass production, it would contribute to meeting Tesla's production goals.

While this report is based on insider sources, it is important to take it with a grain of salt since Tesla doesn't have a PR team, and it remains to be seen if these claims will come to fruition. Nonetheless, the plan to manufacture 4 million affordable entry-level EVs per year is undoubtedly a significant move for Tesla and could further solidify its position as a leader in the EV market.
